A great product for people whom don't suffer the 'explosive' side effectJun 04, 2008
By M. Royer Some background to start. I am an avid tennis player, 30 y/o male in reasonably good shape, I exercise every day and try to play tennis with former college players 2-3x per week. At 16, I had my medial meniscus removed due to a bad tear, at 23 I had the lateral meniscus of the same knee removed due to another tear (yes, I know, and I'm not quitting tennis).
THE UPSIDE: I have been using this product for about a year now on the advice of brother (phd in physical therapy) whom said there was not enough research but it was worth a shot. If I do not take it for a week, my knee is stiff and sore like it had been previously, after about 2 months of initially taking it, my knee has no pain during or after playing. I recently decided to try the target brand copy of Osteo bi-flex due to price and within a week, the knee pain is back. For my particular scenario, this seems to work and it doesn't seem to be a placebo effect being that I notice the knee pain before I remember that I have forgotten taking the pills while travelling. I won't be using any other brand after my frugal experiment.
THE DOWNSIDE: After a full year I was fairly confident to recommend this to others that suffer from stiff knees and joint pain and know of two friends (one 35, in ok shape but could lose 20-30 lbs, the other, my father 60, in shape and walks everyday for exercise) who have used it. The younger one saw a noticable improvement in knee stiffness when walking up and down stairs, my father unfortunately suffered from the bowel movements other reviewers have mentioned. So, my opinion is that if you are able to use the product without the side effects, it is worth trying out (I would suggest going through one bottle, if there is not a difference within that time, I would not assume you will see a benefit).

It Works!May 07, 2006
By Donald P. Martin I tried this item after years of knee pain, and my knee locking every time I bent down. After taking 2 pills a day for 2 weeks all symtems went away. I still take 2 a day, and walk 3 miles a day pain free. I am 64 years old. I am thankful for this product.

No benefit...potential hazardsDec 14, 2006
By Public Health Doc I am a physician( M.D.)starting my fourth bottle of this product, which I started on the advice of my physician brother-in-law. I am 69 years old, very healthy, but have a torn medial meniscus, but with minimal symptoms: squatting is nearly impossible. Soon after starting the third bottle, I started having a lot of intestinal gas (flatulence) and diarrhea, which have worsened as I started my fourth bottle. I finally stopped these pills, and after two weeks of "wash out" am back to normal. I have had no improvement from this product and nothing but grief!

After taking the 2 pills twice daily to start, I did have a noticeable improvement in my knees. It didn't cure a sprain any faster, but has eased the soreness in my knee joints. I've also noticed an improvement in my shoulders which used to ache at night.

Do not take this productNov 18, 2010

I fear this is a much more dangerous product than people realize. After 4 days of two pills two times per day, as recommended, I was in pain. Not just the gastrointestinal stuff that others have mentioned, I also had horrendous pain in my upper legs and knees. Pain to the point that I was in tears. Originally I took the product for pain in my hip where I am arthritic. After going on line and reading the reviews posted here, I decided not to take Move Free anymore. Lo and behold, the leg pain was gone in 24 hours, as quickly as it appeared. I even tried to research this product on line before I bought it, but evidently missed these reviews. I couldn't find a lot of feedback. This is defintely a buyer beware.
