5Relief for My Ankles.Nov 25, 2009
By Gary Peterson
I was a runner for over 25 years. I raced a lot including 11 marathons. I'd estimate that I've put in enough running miles to have run around the world at the equator, if that was physically possible.

In any case, I've had very few problems with running injuries. Perhaps the one big exception is recurring sore ankles in my later years. At one point, they were sore enough that I not only had to stop running, I was having trouble walking. At that point I started using a product called "Joint Juice," and I experienced a bit of relief. I didn't go back to running, however. I was discussing the situation with a friend and he said that "Joint Juice" contained only glucosamine and that I needed a product containing both glucosamine and chondroitin. My friend is very knowledgeable about endurance sports and associated overuse injuries, I should add.

So, I picked up a large bottle of Kirkland Signature Extra Strength Glucosamine and Chondroitin tablets. I chose the Kirkland product because it was highly rated and available at a reasonable price. I'd say my ankles are now much better. Much better! They're so much better, in fact, that I'm now considering going into training for 5K and, eventually, 10K runs. Perhaps I might add that I'm 73 years old and I'd love to get back to racing.

5Incredibly Effective, and in only a month or soSep 09, 2009
By Colin J. Parker
This is my first review on Amazon, even though I've purchased dozens of things. The only reason I felt compelled to review this product is because it relates to health, which I feel is incredibly important. I am an avid rock climber, and as such, I put a lot of stress on my hands. Last year, I developed a ligament injury in my ring fingers which caused me to have to take almost six months off before it healed. This year, things were going great, until that familiar pain started up again, this time in my middle fingers. I was terrified that I was going to be sidelined for another six months or more, which for anyone who climbs, is intolerable. I read in Climbing Magazine about Glucosamine/Chondroitin and how effective it can be for some people, so I bought this product. I've been taking it super-consistently [one pill in the morning after breakfast, one at night after dinner] for about six weeks now, and I feel amazing! Last night I went to the gym and had perhaps my best climbing day ever, I was cranking super hard on tiny holds, something that normally puts my fingers in pain for days. Today, I don't even feel like I cranked hard last night. They're a bit sore, but with that good soreness that makes me think they'll get stronger. Anyway, I'm ranting by this point, but for $30, if you've got ligament or tendon related issues, especially inflammation, I recommend this product wholeheartedly. Oh, and if you have a problem with big pills, my recommendation is to suck it up and take them anyway... I mean, there's worse things in life, right? ;-)

5It workedOct 09, 2009
By W. Fisher "Burns"
First, I understand that this is just one report; you need to have a real well-designed double-blind test to have any sort of proof, but...I have had a lot of problem with my lower back because of deteriorating joints. My doctor suggest that I try out this compound. Kirkland was rated tops for getting the right amount of active ingredient etc in Consumer Reports, so I tried a bottle. After several months, my back is noticably better. Could be a coincidence, but I don't think so.

As to the product itself, as someone else commented, the pills are pretty big. Remember that you need to take 2 per day to get the recommended dose. Oddly, they smell a bit like chocolate. Not bad!
