Amazon Needs To List All IngredientsApr 09, 2012
By Texan I was expecting Vitamin D3 with a fish oil excipient. Instead, I found soybean oil, gelatin, glycerin, corn oil, and--worst of all--caramel. Caramel coloring is a known carcinogen. To include this in a vitamin supplement is poor practice. To provide this item as an Amazon product without specifying the full list of ingredients on the website is also poor practice. I wouldn't buy another supplement from Amazon again unless I knew of its content from another source and could not find it apart from Amazon. Highly disappointed.

Good vitamin!!Jan 06, 2012
By Elizabeth D. I went to see my doctor, she recommended vitamin D3. She said it is good for your bones and also to prevent tumors from growing. She said that for prevention one should take one capsule of 2000 I.U. daily. Doctors are supposed to know best so...

Contain soybean oilFeb 24, 2012
By seattlereader I've been taking these for several years and they work great (hence the 3 stars rather than 1). I just ran out and was about to order them online, when I decided to look at the ingredients first, since I've started cutting certain things out of my diet. Good thing I did, because the first ingredient is soybean oil, and soy is definitely not something I'm eating right now. Too bad, because these are a great deal, especially if you buy them at Costco.

Soybean and Corn OilMar 29, 2012
By DKS1168 Was delighted to find a high concentration D3 at such a great price until it arrived and I read the label. What is not included in the listing here is that these capsules contain the following: Soybean Oil Gelatin Vegetable Glycerin Corn Oil
Considering that 100% of non-organically grown soybean and corn is genetically modified, this is not a good brand/option at all. (This is NOT an organic brand.) Added to the GMO issue is the fact that non-organic soybean oil is not healthy at all -for anyone- as it containes phytoestrogens.

"Totally not a robot"
I started taking D3 after reading recent studies that found modern people were overall pretty deficient in it. Nearly all the symptoms of deficiency applied to me. I live in a state where it's cold outside for at least six months of the year, and I do a lot of desk work and don't get outside as often as I'd like.
For years I was constantly ill, so much so that it became a running joke. Whenever someone in my son's elementary class got sick, it seemed like he'd catch it and bring it on home to me. I can pinpoint the time when the constant colds stopped happening to the time we both started taking D3 supplements (though children under 12 or 13 need far less than adults, they still need more than the 200 I.U. the FDA used to recommend). In the past ten months, we've only been ill once, which is a record around here.
It does take a little time to build yourself back up to ideal levels if you're really deficient--seems to have worked out well when I took two for the first month or so and then dropped down to to one a day thereafter. I should mention that I've also begun taking a lot of other supplements like fish oil and probiotics, but this one and perhaps the daily probiotics seems to have been the key.
D3 is important for the absorption of calcium, helps depression, high blood pressure, some cardiovascular disease, prevents rickets in children, and a lot more. So far, the Kirkland D3 is the best deal I've found on the web that is of a decent quality (you don't want this in a pressed pill, as it needs oil to absorb best). I'm not sure how the Amazon price compares to the price at Costco, but if memory serves this is pretty close.
